I am Susan Jacob, a Counselling Psychologist with an M.Sc. in Counselling Psychology, and my journey into this field has been shaped by both personal experiences and a deep curiosity about people and their stories. Growing up in an Army environment taught me adaptability, resilience, and the importance of human connection. Being surrounded by people from diverse backgrounds and constantly navigating change gave me an early appreciation of how individuals cope with challenges and find strength in relationships. A defining experience in my life has been my journey as a breast cancer survivor. While it brought uncertainty and challenges, it also became a profound path of learning and transformation. It deepened my understanding of vulnerability, resilience, and the emotional aspects of healing. More importantly, it strengthened my desire to support others navigating illness, loss, and life transitions with empathy and hope. During my training, I had the opportunity to work in school settings with children and adolescents facing emotional and academic challenges, and in rehabilitation centres with individuals struggling with addiction, grief, and emotional distress. These experiences reinforced my belief that every person is more than their struggles and that healing begins when people feel genuinely heard and understood. My approach to counselling is eclectic, person-centred, and strength-based. I believe in meeting people where they are, drawing on their strengths, and creating safe, compassionate spaces for growth and healing. I also hold an added specialization in Couples and Family Therapy, along with training in Group Counselling, which has further enriched my understanding of relationships and the power of connection in the healing process. I chose counselling because I believe every person's story matters. My own experiences taught me that healing is not just about overcoming difficulties but about finding meaning and rediscovering strength. I do this work
